Notes

HER: Four cairns were recorded at this location in 1994 situated on the ridge south of Longstone Hill forming part of a cairnfield. Possibly prehistoric clearance cairns.

HER quoting Gerrard:
(09/02/1994) SX56799069 Four cairns. Two of the mounds are sub-circular in shape and the average height of all the mounds is 0.53m. The individual cairns can be described as follows:
1. SX 56789071 Cairn measures 3.6m in diameter and up to 0.7m high.
2. SX 56819071 Cairn is oval in shape, measuring 6m by 3.5m, up to 0.7m high and is aligned north-north-east by south-south-west. The north-eastern part has seen limited damage and is now 0.1m high.
3. SX 56799068 Cairn measures 2.5m in diameter and up to 0.4m high.
4. SX 56789068 Cairn is oval in shape, measuring 5m by 2.5m, up to 0.3m high and aligned north-north-west by south-south-east.
