Notes on possible duplications and omissions

Okement Hill N. Reported Cairn: This Butler record originates from Crossing. A reference to two cairns location unknown which can't be located today. Not worth adding to the HER but kept here for completion.

Okement Hill Summit The grid refrence for this HER entry MDV4369 has a typo in it or a missing digit. The record refers to an account by Crossing as listed by Grinsell as LYDFORD 5a with a grid reference "roughly" of SX 603 877. This grid reference fits with the summit of Okehampton Hill. The HER record has a probable 8-digit grid reference in the notes, namely, SX 6025878. It is missing the last digit i.e. SX 6025 878? which matches Grinsell. The grid reference for the HER record is given as SX 602 587 which is south Dartmoor near Cornwood.

PS. These notes are to assist untangling complicated records and are neither permanent nor a criticism of the HER who do a fantastic job! The author finds it easier to systematically work through these records (2000+ of them) and add these notes, which are then to be communicated with the HER, if appropriate, it is a pragmatic way of dealing with lots of data without continually stopping and starting.
