Notes

HER: Thirty-nine clearance cairns amid medieval fields on the east lower slopes of Corndon Down. The cairns comprise stony turf-covered, circular or elliptical heaps of between 2m and 5m across and up to 0.8m high. The majority of the cairns lie within a large abandoned newtake field (centred SX 6879 7521) which appears never to have been cultivated. The remainder are within smaller fields just to the east, one of which contains cultivation ridges.
